The Maigaiti-Kashgar Expressway starts from Xiyitidun Township in Maigaiti County, passes through Pailou Farm, Regiment 42 of the Third Agricultural Division and enters Yopurga prefecture; it then passes through the Industrial Park of Jiashi County, Xiaputule Township, crosses the Kizilsu River and then enters Akekashi Township in Shule County; it then passes through Yingwusitang Township and Awati Township and then enters Kashgar City, with its destination connected to the Kashgar Belt Expressway. The main line of the expressway is in total 143.011 km long. The construction of this project is of great importance to building the Xinjiang expressway network, facilitating the connection of China’s mainland, Central Asia and Europe and promoting international cooperation.
The start-end stake no. of the second contract section is k20+000 to k54+000, the total length is 34.104 km and the subgrade width is 28 m. This contract section is designed with one broken chainage, with the stake no. k44+580.188 = k44+475.833.
The two-way four-lane expressway standard is adopted for the main line of this project.
